MP4, WebM, MOV, and MKV, as many as you like. Your computer does the work, so long videos take a while.

MP4 with H.264 is the format every phone, computer, TV and website plays. Resizing an MP4 to a lower resolution, for example from 4K to 1080p or from 1080p to 720p, makes it much smaller to share, upload or embed. Drop your videos and get resized H.264 MP4 files, with their sound.

How to resize MP4 videos

  1. Drop your videos in the box above, or click to pick them. You can add as many as you like.
  2. Choose the new size: a percentage of the original (50% by default), an exact width or an exact height. Click More Sizes to get several resolutions.
  3. MP4 (H.264) is already selected as the output format. Open Advanced Settings to add WebM or HEVC versions, or to remove the audio.
  4. Click Start Resizing, then download each file or all of them at once. Nothing is uploaded: everything runs in your browser.

Why resize MP4 videos?

Messaging apps, email and many upload forms limit file size, and a smaller resolution is the easiest way to get under the limit. For websites, a 720p or 1080p MP4 loads much faster than the original 4K clip. Videos in other formats, like MOV or MKV, also come out as H.264 MP4 here.

Frequently asked questions

My MP4 uses HEVC. What do I get?

The resized video is encoded in H.264, the most compatible codec. If you prefer to keep HEVC, select MP4 (HEVC) under Advanced Settings.

Which resolution should I choose?

1080p (1080 pixels high) is a good default for sharing. 720p is enough for phones and small website players, and is roughly half the size.

Are my videos uploaded?

No. The video is decoded and encoded in your browser, on your device. Nothing is sent to a server, which also means there is no file size limit other than your device memory.
