Resize WebP images

Scale WebP images to the exact width your website needs, and keep them light and transparent.

Drop your images here

JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, and AVIF, as many as you like. Your computer does the work, so a big batch takes a moment.

WebP is already a compact format, but an oversized WebP is still wasted bandwidth. Serving images at the size they are displayed is one of the simplest ways to speed up a page. Drop your WebP files, set the size and get WebP files that fit your layout.

How to resize WebP images

  1. Drop your WebP files in the box above, or click to pick them. You can add as many as you like.
  2. Choose the new size: a percentage of the original (50% by default), an exact width or an exact height. Click More Sizes to create several widths for responsive images.
  3. WebP is already selected as the output format. Open Advanced Settings to add JPG, AVIF or PNG copies.
  4. Click Start Resizing, then download each file or all of them at once. Nothing is uploaded: everything runs in your browser.

Why resize WebP images?

Responsive images work best with a few widths of each picture, for example 480, 960 and 1600 pixels, so that phones never download desktop-sized files. With More Sizes you get all of them in one pass. Any JPG or PNG you add here comes out as WebP too, which is a quick way to modernize a folder of images.

Frequently asked questions

Does resizing keep the transparency of my WebP?

Yes. Transparent pixels are preserved in the resized WebP.

What about animated WebP files?

Only the first frame is kept, so the result is a still image.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Resizing runs entirely in your browser, on your device. Your images are never uploaded to a server, so this works for private and confidential files too.
