Resize JPG images

Shrink your JPG photos to the exact size you need, for email, the web or social media.

Drop your images here

JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, and AVIF, as many as you like. Your computer does the work, so a big batch takes a moment.

Phone and camera photos are saved as large JPGs that are slow to send and upload. Resizing them to a sensible size, like 1600 or 2000 pixels wide, often divides their weight by four or more while still looking sharp on any screen. Drop your JPGs, pick the size and download the resized photos.

How to resize JPG images

  1. Drop your JPG files in the box above, or click to pick them. You can add as many as you like.
  2. Choose the new size: a percentage of the original (50% by default), an exact width or an exact height. Click More Sizes to get several versions of each photo.
  3. JPG is already selected as the output format. Open Advanced Settings if you want WebP, AVIF or PNG copies too.
  4. Click Start Resizing, then download each file or all of them at once. Nothing is uploaded: everything runs in your browser.

Why resize JPG photos?

Many forms and websites limit file size or dimensions, and email providers cap attachments. Smaller JPGs upload faster, fill less storage and load faster on your website. Since the aspect ratio is always kept, your photos are never distorted. Other images you add here, such as PNG or WebP, are saved as JPG too, with transparent areas filled in white.

Frequently asked questions

Will resizing reduce the quality of my JPG?

The photo has fewer pixels, so very fine detail is lost when you zoom in, but at normal viewing sizes it looks just as sharp. The JPG is saved with a high quality setting.

What size should I use for the web?

Around 1200 to 2000 pixels wide covers most full-width images. For a blog column or a product photo, 800 to 1200 pixels is usually enough.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Resizing runs entirely in your browser, on your device. Your photos are never uploaded to a server, so this works for private and confidential files too.
