Convert WebP to PNG

Open WebP images in any app by saving them as PNG, with transparent backgrounds intact.

JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, and AVIF, as many as you like. Your computer does the work, so a big batch takes a moment.

WebP is great for websites, but plenty of desktop software still struggles with it. Images saved from the web often end up as WebP files that your editor, slide deck or upload form refuses. Converting them to PNG keeps every pixel and the transparency, in a format everything opens.

How to convert WebP to PNG

  1. Drop your WebP files in the box above, or click to pick them. You can add as many as you like.
  2. PNG is already selected as the output format. Switch on other formats if you want them too.
  3. Optional: open Advanced Settings to resize by percentage, width or height, and add more sizes.
  4. Click Start Conversion, then download each file or all of them at once. Nothing is uploaded: the conversion runs in your browser.

Why convert WebP to PNG?

PNG is the safest format for logos, icons and cut-outs you want to reuse in design tools, documents or presentations. Unlike JPG, it keeps transparent backgrounds, and because it is lossless, the image does not get any worse in the process. The PNG will be larger than the WebP, which is normal.

Frequently asked questions

Does PNG keep the transparency of my WebP?

Yes. Transparent and semi-transparent pixels are preserved exactly.

Can I convert animated WebP files?

Only the first frame is kept, as a still PNG image.

Are my images uploaded?

No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser, on your device. Your images are never uploaded to a server, so this works for private and confidential files too.
