Turn GIF files into standard JPG images that any app or website accepts.

JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, and AVIF, as many as you like. Your computer does the work, so a big batch takes a moment.

GIF is an old format limited to 256 colors, and many platforms handle it poorly when a plain picture is needed. Converting a GIF to JPG gives you a standard image file you can edit, print or upload anywhere.

How to convert GIF to JPG

  1. Drop your GIF files in the box above, or click to pick them. You can add as many as you like.
  2. JPG is already selected as the output format. Switch on other formats if you want them too.
  3. Optional: open Advanced Settings to resize by percentage, width or height, and add more sizes.
  4. Click Start Conversion, then download each file or all of them at once. Nothing is uploaded: the conversion runs in your browser.

Why convert GIF to JPG?

Use this when you need a still picture from a GIF: a thumbnail, a preview or an image for a document. For animated GIFs, the converter saves the first frame. JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas of the GIF become white.

Frequently asked questions

What happens to an animated GIF?

The output is a still image of the first frame. JPG cannot store animation.

Will the colors improve?

The JPG keeps the colors of the GIF; it cannot recover colors the GIF palette never had, but it removes the 256-color limit for any edits you make afterwards.

Are my images uploaded?

No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser, on your device. Your images are never uploaded to a server, so this works for private and confidential files too.
